Why Is The Zone 1 Only Travelcard On London Underground No Longer Available?

It has been withdrawn for a few years, as were all “single zone” travelcards. The minimum you can get is a combination of two zones. A stealthy way to get more revenue I guess. Oyster pay as you go might work out cheaper if you don’t use zone 2 at all.
